ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The iGen Film Festival will take place October 31st - November 3rd, 2024 in Historic Overtown. The festival highlights young filmmakers from around the globe ages 13-25 and connects them with the youth community of Overtown and the surrounding Miami area. The festival looks to celebrate and inspire filmmakers to develop their technical and creative skills.
Last year, our team received over 2,000 of film submissions. Each film is reviewed and scored. The top-ranking films are screened over the 3-day event. During our annual Blue Carpet Awards Show, the winners per film category are announced: Best Short Film, Best Short Web, Best Documentary Film, and Best Narrative. More on Submissions.

Access to viewing future blockbuster hits is just one area of the festival to enjoy. The iGen Film Festival engages the current, as well as the next generation of emerging film filmmakers. Each year the festival features panel discussions, master classes, and workshops from influencers within their generation, as well as tenured influencers and celebrities.
The iGEN Film Festival is a youth organization dedicated to educating our youth about the magic in front of and behind the lens through our annual 3-day interactive events/activities. Our mission is to diminish the barriers to inclusion with the film industry while creating equitable platforms for growth and development. We are celebrating our 8th Annual Film Festival and welcomes your support and contributions to this 3-day cinematic event; as it will not only help build awareness around emerging iGEN filmmakers but also help put a spotlight on emerging youth in film, arts, and culture. festival will provide a platform for film creatives to find their voice in a rapidly expanding landscape.

About the Founder
Created by Elijah Wells, CEO and President of Elijah Wells Films, the iGen Film Festival was founded by a 18-year-old Director, Producer, Actor, from Overtown (Miami, Florida). The creative force behind the festival is 26-year-old Elijah Wells, President, and CEO of Elijah Wells Films. The company has become a staple brand in the film industry, specializing in documentary and filmmaking.
Elijah produced the short film “The Gift,” which was the American Black Film Festival’s 2012 Community Short Film Showcase winner. Key industry leaders and celebrities which include Jeff Friday, Founder of American Black Film Festival, Robert Townsend, Spike Lee, Omari Hardwick, Jalen James Acosta, and Joann Payton have all lent their support to Elijah. The Miami Times refers to Elijah Wells as “one of our very own indie filmmakers.”
